This is one of the few grand strategy games that is based in the cold war. The closest thing to be a Cold War GSG that I've seen so far One year ingame is arround 1 hour ~ 90 minutes real life Even at max speed, everything just feels so slow.As you progress the game becomes slower and slower, because nations start to build more unites and your computers has to calculate the movements and actions of thousands of units.However I still think this is one of the best strategy games I have ever played. However everything is basically just bribing the AI for an alliance. The diplomacy options are quite impressive.I haven't played the standalone version, but the merged version in SR Ultimate
